A Happy New Year To All...

I am ready to put 2011 in my rearview mirror as I gaze upon all that 2012 has to offer. I predicted this time last year that 2011sales would be flat and that the cost of raw materials would increase. As it turned out, raw materials did in fact increase, but our sales decreased. This was the first decrease US Ply has seen since I bought the company.

A turn-down in business is not always bad, but in this case, it caused us to look at areas where cuts could be made. This forced the management team to make some difficult, but necessary decisions. Our tough decisions made US Ply a much stronger, leaner company heading into 2012. As we venture into the New Year, I see a pent-up demand of projects which should equate to an improvement in sales opportunities. As a result, I am predicting stronger sales for 2012. The bad news is that petroleum-based products are predicted to go up once again this year. Please keep this in mind when bidding jobs out into the future.

Our newly improved website is up and running! We have already received much positive feedback on how easy it is to navigate, and that the website additions of USP roof detail drawings and USP fastening pattern diagrams are helping our make contractors’ jobs much easier.
